Making the case

Why Work With Matt Dunn Visuals?

Whether you're weighing a big agency, a cheap alternative, or just wondering if professional creative work is worth it at all — these comparisons cut straight to the point.

Matt Dunn Visuals vs. a Large Agency or Studio

Agencies have their place — but for most small businesses, nonprofits, and individuals, they come with overhead, layers, and a price tag that doesn't match the output. Here's how working directly with Matt stacks up.

Hiring an Agency
Pricing
Matt Dunn VisualsDirect rates with no agency markup, account management fees, or hidden line items. You pay for the actual work.
Hiring an AgencyAgency overhead — staff, office, software, and margins — gets baked into every invoice whether you benefit from it or not.
Who You Talk To
Matt Dunn VisualsYou talk directly to Matt — the person holding the camera, editing the footage, and building the site. No relay race.
Hiring an AgencyYour brief passes through an account manager before it reaches a creative director before it reaches the person actually doing the work.
Flexibility
Matt Dunn VisualsEvery project is scoped around what you actually need. No forced packages. No paying for deliverables you won't use.
Hiring an AgencyRigid tiers and packages mean you're often paying for the smallest tier that fits your checklist — not the scope that fits your goal.
Range of Services
Matt Dunn VisualsPhotography, video, web design, and graphic design under one roof — one creative voice, one point of contact, consistent output across everything.
Hiring an AgencySiloed departments often produce disconnected work. Coordinating between photo, video, and web teams adds time and introduces inconsistency.
Speed
Matt Dunn VisualsDecisions happen fast. No multi-week kickoff cycles or approval chains before a single shot is taken.
Hiring an AgencyMulti-layer review and approval processes slow execution. Simple changes can take days to move through the org.
Accountability
Matt Dunn VisualsOne person is responsible for your results — and that person's name is on the work.
Hiring an AgencyWhen results are distributed across a team, accountability can get distributed too.
File Ownership
Matt Dunn VisualsFull rights to your images, video, and design files are included as standard once the project is paid in full.
Hiring an AgencyRights and licensing are often a separate negotiation — and some agencies retain source files or charge extra for full transfers.
Personal Investment
Matt Dunn VisualsYour project matters directly to the person doing it. There's no quota of accounts to manage, no billable hour pressure.
Hiring an AgencyYou're one of many accounts. The attention and care you receive often reflects where your budget sits relative to others.

Matt Dunn Visuals vs. DIY or Doing Nothing

Phone cameras have gotten good. Wix and Squarespace exist. Canva is free. So why hire a professional? Because the gap between "good enough" and "actually works" is where business is won or lost.

Doing It Yourself
Visual Quality
Matt Dunn VisualsProfessional lighting, composition, and post-processing produce consistent, polished results that hold up at any size or platform.
Doing It YourselfPhone cameras are impressive in perfect conditions. Lighting, expression, composition, and editing still require skill and experience to get right.
First Impressions
Matt Dunn VisualsPolished visuals signal competence and credibility before a single word is read. Clients decide in seconds whether they trust you.
Doing It YourselfLow-quality visuals quietly cost you leads. People don't complain — they just leave. You may never know what you're losing.
Your Time
Matt Dunn VisualsYou get your time back to focus on what you're actually good at. One conversation, one brief, one delivery — done.
Doing It YourselfHours learning Lightroom, shooting and re-shooting, editing, troubleshooting a page builder — and still not fully happy with the result.
Brand Consistency
Matt Dunn VisualsA unified creative voice across photography, video, design, and web means every touchpoint reinforces the same brand.
Doing It YourselfCobbled-together visuals from different sources, different styles, and different quality levels create a fragmented impression.
Website Performance
Matt Dunn VisualsSites are built with proper SEO structure, fast load times, mobile-first layouts, and clean code — foundations that actually support your goals.
Doing It YourselfDIY page builders often produce bloated, slow sites with generic templates, weak SEO, and layouts that don't convert.
Reusable Assets
Matt Dunn VisualsProfessional photos, video, and design files keep working — in ads, pitch decks, proposals, social media, and print — long after the shoot.
Doing It YourselfOne-off DIY efforts rarely produce reusable assets. You end up reshooting, redesigning, or making do with something that doesn't represent you well.
Strategic Context
Matt Dunn VisualsEvery project starts with your goals. The output is shaped around what you need it to do — not just what looks nice.
Doing It YourselfDIY work tends to produce output for output's sake. Without a clear brief and a professional eye, the result rarely connects to a measurable outcome.
The Cost of Waiting
Matt Dunn VisualsEvery week with strong visuals and a working site is a week compounding credibility, traffic, and leads.
Doing It YourselfEvery week without professional visuals or a real web presence is a week your competition is winning by default.

Got Questions?

We Have Answers

A few of the most common questions across photography, video, design, and web.

Photography

You'll receive a curated gallery of fully edited images — not every frame, but the best ones. A typical 90-minute portrait session delivers 40–80 images.
Most galleries are delivered within 7–10 business days via an online link where you can download your images in full resolution.

Videography

Events, brand and promotional videos, real estate, worship services, sports highlights, and social media content. If you have something specific in mind, it's worth a conversation.
A standard event or promotional video typically takes 2–3 weeks from shoot to delivery. Timelines are agreed on before the project begins.

Graphic Design

Yes. Once the project is paid in full, full rights transfer to you — use it on print, web, merchandise, signage, or anywhere else you need it.
Print-ready and web-ready versions — PDF, PNG, and JPG as standard. Logo projects also include vector files (AI or SVG) so your logo scales perfectly at any size.

Web Design

Yes — every site is built mobile-first and tested across multiple screen sizes before launch. With more than half of all web traffic coming from mobile, this isn't optional.
A standard 5–8 page business site typically takes 3–5 weeks. Having your content (text, photos, logo) ready before we start is the biggest factor in keeping things on schedule.
