Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about working with Matt — from your first session to the final deliverable.

Photography

Common questions about portrait, family, sports, and event photography sessions.

Think about a location that feels natural to you — somewhere you spend time or that has meaning. Wear clothes you're comfortable in and that fit the mood you're going for. Avoid busy patterns and overly bright logos. Most importantly, don't overthink it. The goal is to capture you as you actually are, not a posed version of yourself.

If it's a family session, plan for some movement — kids especially do better when they're allowed to explore rather than stand still.

It depends on the type of session. A standard portrait or headshot session typically runs 60–90 minutes. Family sessions usually take 1.5–2 hours to allow for moving through a few locations and letting everyone settle in. Sports and event coverage is billed by the hour and scheduled around the event itself.

You'll receive a curated gallery of fully edited images — not every frame shot, but the best ones with proper exposure, composition, and expression. For a 90-minute portrait session that's typically 40–80 images. Family and event sessions tend to deliver more due to the variety of moments captured.

Most portrait and family galleries are delivered within 7–10 business days. Sports and event shoots may take slightly longer depending on volume. You'll receive a link to an online gallery where you can download your images in full resolution.

We'll reschedule at no charge. Overcast days can actually produce beautiful, even light for portraits, so light cloud cover isn't always a reason to cancel — but heavy rain or severe weather is. We'll stay in contact leading up to the session and make the call together.

Absolutely. Feel free to bring a list of shots or share a mood board before the session. While the best images often come from natural moments rather than heavily directed poses, having a reference point is always helpful — especially for professional headshots or specific creative concepts.

All editing is done in-house. Every image is individually processed — color, exposure, contrast, and any necessary retouching. You're getting a consistent, personal edit, not a batch-processed batch run through a generic preset.

Videography

Questions about video production, turnaround, formats, and what to expect from start to finish.

Event coverage, promotional and brand videos, real estate walkthroughs, worship and church services, sports highlights, social media content, and short documentary-style films. If you have something specific in mind that's not on that list, reach out — most projects are worth a conversation.

For a standard event or promotional video, expect a 2–3 week turnaround from the shoot date. Longer or more complex productions with multiple locations, interviews, or extensive motion graphics will take more time. Timelines are discussed and agreed on before the project begins so there are no surprises.

Most projects are shot in 4K. This gives maximum flexibility in post-production — being able to crop, reframe, and stabilize without any quality loss — and future-proofs your content as 4K displays become standard. Final delivery format (4K, 1080p, or web-optimized) is based on your needs and platform.

Yes. Music is sourced from licensed libraries to ensure your video can be published on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and other platforms without copyright issues or takedowns. You can provide direction on the mood or genre, and a few options will be presented for your approval before the final cut.

Final files are delivered via a secure download link. Depending on the scope of the project, you may receive multiple versions — a full-length cut, a short social media version, and/or platform-specific aspect ratios (16:9 for YouTube, 9:16 for Reels/TikTok, etc.).

Most projects include two rounds of revisions. A revision is a set of changes requested after reviewing a cut — pacing adjustments, swapping clips, changing music, trimming length, etc. Major structural changes after the first approved cut may be scoped separately. Clear communication upfront about goals makes revisions much smoother.

Graphic Design

Common questions about logos, branding, print, and digital design work.

Logo design and brand identity, social media graphics, print materials (flyers, brochures, business cards, signage), event programs, church bulletins, and digital marketing assets. If it needs to look good, it qualifies.

You'll receive print-ready and web-ready versions of your files. Typically this includes PDF, PNG, and JPG as standard. For logo projects, vector files (AI or SVG) are also included so your logo scales perfectly at any size — from a business card to a billboard.

Yes. Once the project is paid in full, you own full rights to your design and can use it however you need — print, web, merchandise, signage, and beyond. This is especially important for logos and brand identity work.

Absolutely. Consistency is the whole point. If you have brand guidelines, share them at the start of the project. If you don't have a formal style guide but have existing materials you want to match, those work just as well as a reference.

Standard projects include two rounds of revisions after the initial concept is presented. For logo design, the process typically starts with 2–3 initial directions, and then refines from there based on your feedback. The more specific your brief at the start, the smoother the revision process.

Simple one-off pieces (a flyer, a social graphic) can turn around in a few days. Logo and brand identity projects typically take 1–2 weeks from brief to final files. Larger print campaigns or full brand packages are scoped individually. Rush timelines can often be accommodated — just ask upfront.

Web Design

Questions about building, updating, and maintaining websites — from first conversation to launch.

Both options are available depending on your budget and goals. Custom builds give you full control over design and functionality and are built specifically for your brand. Template-based builds use a proven framework as a starting point and are then customized to your content, colors, and style — often a great fit for smaller businesses that need a professional result quickly and affordably.

Yes — every site is built mobile-first. With more than half of all web traffic coming from mobile devices, a site that doesn't work well on a phone is a site that's losing business. All layouts are tested across multiple screen sizes and devices before launch.

Yes. Every site is built with SEO fundamentals in mind — semantic HTML structure, proper heading hierarchy, meta titles and descriptions, image alt text, fast load times, and clean code. This gives you a strong technical foundation. Ongoing SEO strategy (content, backlinking, keyword targeting) is a separate service and can be discussed based on your goals.

Yes. Updates, refreshes, and full redesigns are all on the table. Whether you need a few pages updated, new functionality added, or a complete overhaul, the project starts with a review of what you currently have and a clear plan for where it needs to go.

Hosting recommendations are provided as part of every project. You'll be set up with a reliable hosting provider that fits your site's needs and your budget — and you own and control your own account. If you already have hosting you're happy with, we'll work with what you have.

A standard 5–8 page business website typically takes 3–5 weeks from kickoff to launch. Larger sites with custom functionality, e-commerce, or integrations take longer. One of the biggest factors in timeline is how quickly content (text, photos, logo) is provided — having that ready before we start makes everything faster.

Yes. Websites need regular attention — software updates, security patches, content changes, and performance monitoring. Ongoing maintenance can be handled on a retainer basis or as one-off requests depending on how much support you need after launch.
